2025 Recovery Advocacy in Action Day at the Legislature
Please join us at the legislature for Recovery Advocacy Day at the West Virginia State Capitol on Friday, March 7th from 8:00am-2:00pm. A light continental breakfast and coffee will be provided; Lunch is on your own. On March 6th from 5:00-7:30pm there will be a reception at the Culture Center on the Capitol Grounds, please see the registration tab for more information.
WVAAPP's Recovery Advocacy Day focuses on identifying areas of interest related to treatment, prevention, and recovery efforts including legislation impacting West Virginians.
The event will include professional development/advocacy training, roundtable conversations with West Virginia legislators & State Agency Officials, and updates on legislation impacting our fields.

WVBHPA- the West Virginia Behavioral Health Providers Association
WVARR – the West Virginia Alliance for Recovery Residences
West Virginia Chapter – NASW – National Association of Social Workers
If your organization is interested in sponsoring the event or having an exhibit table at the Capitol please visit www.wvaapp.org to download a sponsorship form. The deadline for exhibitor/sponsors to have logos in the printed materials is 2/21/2025. Exhibitor/sponsorships will be accepted until 5pm Friday 2/14/25
CE's are approved through WVCBAPP for peers, ADC/AADC & prevention; LPC, SW are pending approval.
If you are going to exhibit/sponsor at the event please do not complete the registration- you will be registered via the form that is submitted with the exhibit/sponsorship form.
At this time the only free exhibit tables are reserved for institutions of higher education.
Students pursuing degrees in SW, human services, counseling, CJ, psychology, nursing, pharmacy, and medical school are all encouraged and welcome to attend at no cost. Use the coupon code Student when registering. Student ID will need to be shown at registration.
