2025 WVAAPP Professional Development Summit

We cordially invite you to join us for the WVAAPP 2025 Professional Development Summit in beautiful Canaan Valley, WV. 

The conference committee is working hard to put together a stellar lineup of speakers and activities, and this website will be updated as information is available. 


Registration is OFFICIALLY CLOSED- We are unable to accommodate on-site registrations. If for some reason you need to register after July 15th please reach out via email to: treasurer@wvaapp.org before July 18. No registrations are available after July 18.


 LODGING IS NOT INCLUDED-in registration fees- see details below for making lodging reservations at Canaan- Lodging at Canaan is FULL- we suggest that you reach out to Blackwater Falls Lodge, The Billy Hotel or The Inn at Canaan- we do NOT have reserved blocks at these alternative locations

PLEASE NOTE- Exhibit Staff must register and pay the exhibit staff fee; sponsorships don't include registrations. Exhibit staff tickets don't include CEs; If exhibit staff want/need CEs they need to register at the appropriate level/other option. The fees are set to defray costs of food, in fairness to everyone, we can't make exceptions.



Meals: Meals and breaks are included with your registration.  Meals are the major cost factor for the Summit and our prices are set largely around food costs.

If you plan to bring someone you would like to share meals with, they will need to be registered and pay the guest fee of $275. Youth tickets are for those 12 and UNDER and are $150 which will include meals/breaks.  Anyone 13 and older will need to register as a guest (adult) and the $275 fee applies. In fairness to everyone, There are no exceptions to this requirement. 

Breakfast will be provided Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday- we believe in a hearty start to the day. We will have a full buffet each morning.

Lunch will be provided Tuesday, Wednesday &Thursday

Dinner will be provided Tuesday (banquet) & Wednesday.

Tuesday evening is our awards banquet in partnership with WVCBAPP.  The banquet is included in all registrations that include Tuesday. 

For those who want to only attend the banquet or want to bring a guest to the banquet the cost is $30- see the registration tab for details and to purchase your ticket.

On Wednesday evening we will have a cookout and have our scholarship auction. We ask that everyone please bring new or gently used items for the auction.

Please be sure to select the correct registration option. If you are uncertain of your NAADAC/WVAAPP membership status please check your NAADAC account or email us at membership@wvaapp.org


If your registration doesn't match your membership status, we will contact you. Any discrepancies/fees will need to be resolved prior to July 15.

Lodging: FULL- see above

Dress is casual and as with any conference venue room temperatures fluctuate and we may not have control over the temperature that suits everyone so dress in layers/bring a sweater/jacket. 

Weather in Canaan in July can be quite cool in the evenings.

CE's Sessions are approved for those with credentials through WVCBAPP (PS1, PS2, PRSS-SUD, PRSS-MH, ADC, AADC, CCJP, CS).

Please see the Schedule at a Glance and Page 4 of the Program as well as each session description to determine which sessions are approved for SW, Psychologists & LPCs as certain sessions are not approved by the boards. The "Schedule At A Glance" in the program provides a visual summary.


RECOVERY MEETINGS: There will be a variety of meetings offered - Space will be available for early birds to meet for 7am meetings and for night owls to meet around 9pm- more details will be available onsite. If you are interested in chairing a meeting please let us know when you check in at the registration table. 


PLEASE NOTE-Refunds are not available- substitution with another attendee is an option but needs to be arranged prior to July 15- on site substitutions are not available.
